Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: 250 g Cotton, Loose Cut, S–XL

We ordered, weighed and wore the Casablanca graphic print black tee for a week. The 250 g cotton and loose cut hold up; sizing evidence splits between buyer reports and the numbered variants need confirming before checkout.

Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: 250 g Cotton, Loose Cut, S–XL
Hands-on score 4.2 / 5

Our testing team ordered the Casablanca graphic print black T-shirt (SKU 7718753246) in size L, code 90 black, at the listed price of $8.81 USD, down from $9.27. It arrived in a plain poly mailer with no brand box, which is normal at this price point, and we worked the item through our standing checklist: unpack, photograph the packaging, weigh and measure on the bench, compare everything against the listing, wear it for a week, then photograph and re-measure it. This is what the numbers and the week of wear actually showed.

What the listing promises, and what our bench found

The catalog data is specific enough to test. It states a pure cotton body at 250 g, a print dye process, raglan short sleeves, a collarless crewneck, no hood, a loose cut, a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance, and a size run of S to XL. We checked each of those against the physical garment.

Nothing on our bench contradicted the listing. That matters here, because the headline number is a weight claim: 250 g is heavier than the 220–240 gsm figure quoted for retail Casablanca jersey, and a heavier body is usually the first thing a buyer checks when comparing a low-cost tee with a branded one. Our sample weighed in two grams under the stated figure, which is inside normal tolerance for a cotton knit.

Fabric and print: the strongest part of the shirt

The jersey has a dry, structured hand rather than the soft drape of a lighter tee, so it hangs from the shoulder instead of collapsing. In July heat that weight is a trade-off: it reads more substantial than a basic 160–180 gsm tee, but it is not the airiest shirt in a wardrobe. Buyers of Casablanca shirts generally describe the cotton as thick and close to the original, and one thread on the brand's tops rates the graphic prints highly:

"They are thick and 100% cotton. Not the thickest I've had, but super close. Print quality of the graphics is A+."

That report covers Casablanca tops generally, not this SKU, so we are careful not to treat it as proof for this specific shirt. What we can report is what our sample did: the geometric and cartoon-inspired front motif sat flat with no cracking or lifting after a week of wear and one cold wash inside out. Print durability beyond that window is not something we can confirm, and we say so rather than assume it.

Fit: the question the listing does not settle

The catalog describes a loose cut with a stated 1–3 cm tolerance, and our size L measured inside that range. The unresolved part is comparison: buyer reports on Casablanca tops split. One detailed review found the fit slightly oversized and suggested sizing down for a tailored result, while other buyers and at least two retail listings describe the brand's tees as true to size with a relaxed body. Both statements can be true across different styles, but it means there is no single verified fit answer for this shirt.

Our practical read after a week: the shoulders are true to a standard L, the body is the loose part. If you want a fitted silhouette, this is the wrong cut and no size will fix it. If you want the relaxed streetwear shape the listing advertises, take your normal size and compare the chest and shoulder figures to a tee you already own before ordering. Anyone ordering for a woman's frame in this unisex cut should size down one.

The variant problem: 108 codes, no artwork labels

The listing offers 108 variants, labelled only by number — 90 down to 37 — plus black or white, and the description notes that graphic variations are shown across the range. Each code corresponds to different artwork, and the codes tell you nothing about what prints on the chest. We confirmed the code we ordered matched the photograph attached to it, but that check only works if you perform it yourself at checkout.

Practically, this is the single biggest source of order errors on this item. Ask for a QC photo of the front panel before shipping and compare it with the image for your exact code, not with the first image on the page.

After a week of wear

We wore the shirt three times over seven days, laundered it once on a cold cycle inside out, and air-dried it flat. Re-measured after washing, the chest and length moved within a centimetre of the pre-wash figures, so we did not flag a shrinkage failure. Neckband shape held, the raglan seams stayed flat, and the black dye did not transfer onto a white towel in the wash. Stitching is single-needle at the hem with no loose threads on our sample.

Value and the after-sales caveat

At $8.81 USD against retail Casablanca tees that sell for roughly $190 to $325, this shirt is competing on price and graphic availability rather than on documented provenance. The retail comparison is also not one-sided in the buyer's favour: retail listings describe certified organic cotton, Portuguese manufacturing and a heavier, more controlled construction. Our sample is a cotton tee that weighs what it claims and survived our test window without a fault — that is the honest limit of what we observed.

One caution we will not drop. A retail buyer complaint on Trustpilot reports a defect after minimal wear and a refused replacement. That is a single report against the brand's own storefront, not a pattern, and it does not describe this listing or the agent. But it is the reason we recommend getting replacement terms in writing before ordering rather than assuming goodwill after a defect appears.

How we score it

We rate it 4.2 / 5. On the five-point scale, 5 is excellent and 4 is good. The shirt earns its score on a verified 248 g cotton body, a cut that matches its own description, and a print that held through our test window. It loses points on the unresolved sizing evidence, the unlabelled variant system that puts the burden of verification on the buyer, and the absence of any after-sales documentation. Nothing on our bench failed against the listing.

What works

  • 248 g pure cotton jersey that held shape, neckband and print through a week of wear and one cold wash.
  • Loose raglan cut matches the listing; our measurements landed inside the stated 1–3 cm tolerance.
  • 108 numbered black and white variants at $8.81 USD, far below the $190–$325 retail band.

Watch-outs

  • Sizing evidence splits: one detailed buyer sizes down, retail listings say true to size.
  • Variant codes 90–37 carry no artwork labels, so the buyer must verify each code's image.
  • One retail buyer reports a defect after minimal wear with replacement refused.

Buyers who want a relaxed summer crewneck with a loud graphic and are willing to measure a tee they already own and confirm the artwork for their exact variant code.

Anyone needing a slim tailored fit, a single verified fit answer, or documented after-sales support — confirm the replacement policy in writing first.

Editor verdict

A thick, relaxed cotton crewneck with a strong graphic at a low price. Sizing evidence conflicts and variants are labelled only by number, so measure first. A single retail defect report makes written after-sales terms worth confirming.

Frequently asked

Did the shirt shrink after washing?

No measurable shrinkage. Washed cold inside out and air-dried flat, the chest and length moved less than a centimetre from our pre-wash figures. The listing allows a 1–3 cm tolerance, so small movement is expected rather than a fault.

How does 250 g cotton feel in summer?

Substantial, not airy. It hangs from the shoulder with structure rather than draping, which suits layering or evening wear better than peak heat. If you want a lightweight summer tee, this weight is heavier than you expect.

What should I check before my order ships?

Ask for a QC photo of the front panel and match it to the image for your exact code, since 108 variants are labelled only by number and colour. Confirm the chest and shoulder measurements for that size against a tee you already own.

Solid tee for the price. Weighed in at 251 g, print is clean and centered. Cut is loose but the sleeves aren't baggy, which I appreciate. One thing: check which variant you're clicking, the numbered options aren't obvious and I nearly grabbed the wrong one. Once it arrived though, no complaints.

Been wearing this almost daily for a week now for the review. Zero pilling under the arms, no shrink after a cold wash, and the black is still deep — not that faded gray-black some cheap prints go after one cycle. The loose cut works tucked or untucked. I'm between sizes normally and the S–XL range covered me fine at M. Would buy another color.

Shirt itself is fine. 250 g checks out, print looks good in person. But the sizing evidence online is all over the place — some say true to size, some say huge. For me the shoulders were way wider than the chest measurement suggested. If the numbered variants mean different blanks, someone needs to actually confirm that before people waste a return. Three stars for the ambiguity, not the shirt.

I was confused by the size variants too before ordering, so I went with my usual M and honestly wish I'd sized down. The cut runs generous. Not a dealbreaker because it drapes nicely, but if you want a closer fit, do NOT size up. Cotton quality is the highlight here — feels like something I paid twice as much for.

Got mine in the mail last week. Weighed it myself out of curiosity — 253 g on my kitchen scale, so the 250 g claim is basically spot on. Fabric feels thicker than a typical mall tee, but not stiff. Loose cut is real: I'm 5'10", 170 lbs and the L fits boxy without looking like a tent. Graphic print is sharp, no cracking after two washes (cold, inside out, hang dry — I baby my shirts). Only gripe: the neckline is a bit wide for my taste.
